The story
Birdie was founded in Denmark in 2022 by Andreas Kofoed Sorensen and Hans Hoite Augustenborg, on the observation that the air we sleep in shapes how we rest, yet stays invisible. Their answer is a physical CO2 monitor designed as a calm object for the bedside, one that shows air quality at a glance without demanding a phone or an app. It is Scandinavian design applied to a problem most people never think to measure.
Why ORUS chose Birdie
Sleep gets endless attention, the air you sleep in almost none. Birdie makes an invisible factor visible, and does it as a beautifully restrained design object rather than another screen. For a considered wind-down, it is a quietly clever addition to the bedroom.
We spend most of our lives indoors, breathing air we cannot see. The bird is the canary in the coalmine, only friendlier.Andreas Kofoed Sorensen & Hans Hoite Augustenborg, founder
